Should i shoot the raccoon?

whelp it seems that if i wake up tomorrow and check my trap threes gonna be a coon in there because i did the same thing i did last time when i got one and this time i want to get it mounted becuase they so cute haha. soooo how could i kill it with out suffering it like im not gonna beat it with a stick or drowned it. i have a .22lr and a .17 hmr and a .20 guage but it seems if i shoot the coon the cage could get jacked up so any ideas or is the shooting the best way to go
