Shooting pain in my jaw?

Whenever I take a big yawn sometimes there is a shooting pain throughout my jaw, hard to locate the exact spot of the pain but would say it is underneath my mouth, feels like all my muscles have tensed up and can only move my mouth once they are pushed into my mouth? The pain stays for a while afterwards but goes away eventually, if anyone has any ideas what this could be, or whether I should seek advice from a doctor would be greatly appreciated
